Transition of Jurisdiction D DME Medical Review
Effective March 1, 2008, SafeGuard Services LLC (SGS) transitioned all medical review (MR) functions for Jurisdiction D DME suppliers/providers from our subcontractor IntegriGuard LLC to Noridian Administrative Services (NAS).
All providers/suppliers submitting claims to Jurisdiction D DME/MAC for DMEPOS items and services furnished to Medicare beneficiaries will be affected by this change.
MLM Article MM5765, Items and Services Having Special DME Review Considerations is an informational article for suppliers is based on Change Request (CR) 5765. DME/MACs will have the responsibility of the MR functions described in Chapter 5 of the Program Integrity Manual (PIM), Items and Services Having Special DME Review Considerations.
These activities include requested documentation related to Advance Determinations of Medicare Coverage (ADMC) and documentation for prepayment and post-payment Medical Review. The activities described in Chapter 5 are the current responsibility of the DME Program Safeguard Contractors (PSCs) and are under transition to the DME/MACs.
Beginning Monday March 3, 2008, suppliers must submit their documentation to NAS using the following PO Box or one of the fax numbers listed below.
